Reno County Hosts Community Series on Successful Aging

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County's Department of Aging recently hosted a Community Collaboration Series event focused on creating an action plan for successful aging, featuring insights from a local home care specialist.
Samantha Juarez from All Saints Home Care led the presentation Friday, July 18, at the Department of Aging, sharing strategies for developing comprehensive aging plans.
The session, titled "An Action Plan for Successful Aging," provided attendees with practical resources including checklists, action plans available via email or mail, resource folders and opportunities for questions and discussion.
"Most importantly, she offered hope: that aging could be joyful, dignified, and full of love—if you planned for it," Reno County officials said in describing Juarez's presentation.
The county announced that the next speaker in the collaboration series will be Denis Vann from the Alzheimer's Association Central and Western Kansas. Vann will present on "Alzheimer's Awareness" at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15.
The Community Collaboration Series appears to be an ongoing initiative by Reno County focused on addressing aging-related topics and resources for residents.
County officials expressed gratitude for Juarez's participation and encouraged community members to visit the county's website to read highlights from her presentation.
The Department of Aging hosts these educational sessions as part of efforts to support residents in planning for and navigating the aging process.
