HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will meet Tuesday, October 7, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to consider multiple infrastructure projects and a housing development initiative.
The council will hold public hearings on two major wastewater projects: improvements to the wastewater treatment facility and rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer collection system. Both projects require applications for loans through the Kansas Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund.
Council members will also consider an ordinance establishing the Landmark Reinvestment Housing Incentive District, which includes adopting a development plan and approving a related development agreement.
The agenda includes several proclamations recognizing Fire Prevention Week, Disability Employment Awareness Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Cyber Security Month.
Additional discussion items include updates on unsafe and dangerous structures, replacement of playground equipment at Fairgrounds Park, pickle ball courts and an economic development project.
Public meetings will precede each public hearing on the wastewater projects.
The meeting is open to the public. Council members can be reached by phone or email outside meeting times. Contact information is available at https://www.hutchgov.com/295/City-Council.
