Traffic delays expected on Westwood Road during weeklong asphalt project

MANHATTAN — Manhattan drivers should prepare for traffic delays starting Monday on Westwood Road as Bayer Construction begins a weeklong mill and overlay project between Fort Riley Boulevard and Oak Street. While through traffic will be maintained using flaggers and advance warning signs, crews expect the paving work to wrap up by June 22, weather permitting. The upgrades mark one of five sites in the city's asphalt maintenance package, which is funded by a local 0.20% sales tax that covers the group's entire $987,555 budget.
