TOPEKA, Kan. - A Topeka police officer fatally shot a woman armed with a knife Thursday morning after she reportedly threatened a bystander in downtown Topeka. The fatal encounter occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when the woman, who had been driving erratically, crashed her vehicle in the 500 block of South Kansas Ave. and subsequently entered Townsite Tower while wielding a large knife.
