Teen Hospitalized After Three-Vehicle Crash in Saline County

SALINA, Kan. — A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Sunday evening following a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Burma Road and Crawford Street in Saline County.

Colton D. Bettenbrock of Brookville was transported to Salina Regional Health Center after the 5:30 p.m. crash, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred when Isaac J. Perez, 17, of Lindsborg, was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota northbound on South Burma Road. Perez stopped at the intersection with Crawford Street, then proceeded through when Bettenbrock's 2014 Dodge Ram struck the Dakota, the patrol reported.

The impact forced Bettenbrock's vehicle into a 2014 Ford Explorer driven by Vance J. Johnson, 28, of Salina, who was westbound and waiting to turn onto South Burma Road.

Perez, Johnson and three passengers in the Ford Explorer were not injured. All six people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, according to the highway patrol.

The extent of Bettenbrock's injuries was not immediately available.
