Section of Anderson Avenue to close June 8 for $10.5 million waterline project

MANHATTAN, Kan. — A stretch of Anderson Avenue between Connecticut Avenue and Timberline Drive will close to through traffic for two weeks starting June 8 as part of a $10.5 million waterline improvement project. Contractor Bayer Construction is replacing water lines, storm sewers and pavement in the area, forcing drivers to detour using Seth Child Road, Claflin Road and Sunset Avenue. Local traffic will be permitted in the construction zone, but the full closure is expected to last until June 22, depending on weather conditions.
