HUTCHINSON, Kan.— Hutchinson High School Salthawks girls basketball hosted the Campus High School Colts from Wichita at the Salthawk Activity Center on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025.
The Salthawks started strong, quickly building an early lead over a Colts team that has yet to win a game in the 2025-26 season. Hutchinson scored 16 points before Campus managed to put any points on the board. By halftime, the Salthawks led 40-9, holding a 31-point advantage.
The scoring dominance continued in the second half, with the Salthawks widening the gap to 42 points by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was played under the mercy rule, which meant a running clock. All the players on the Hutchinson bench had the opportunity to gain valuable playing time before the game concluded. The final score was Hutchinson 60, Campus 26.
The Salthawks carry a 3-2 record into an away game versus Arkansas City before the Christmas break. Their next home match will be Jan. 6, 2026, hosting the Maize South Mavericks at the Salthawk Activity Center.
