Salina landfill opens for residential tree limbs after severe storms
Disposal fees waived for properly secured loads of vegetative debris
SALINA — Residents clearing debris from Monday's severe storms can now drop off tree limbs for free at the Salina Municipal Landfill, as long as the loads are properly secured and separated from other trash.
To safely manage the heavy influx of cleanup traffic, the facility is directing residential haulers along a separate route from commercial vehicles.
The city's Public Works Department will also launch a free curbside collection program on June 15 for branches cut to lengths of 10 feet or less.
