Riley County USD 378 Board Addresses Staff Changes, Approves Agenda

MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Riley County USD 378 Board of Education held its regular meeting Monday, approving several personnel changes and administrative items during the session.

Staff Resignations: The board accepted two coaching resignations effective immediately — Chris Glover as RCGS Assistant Boys Basketball Coach and Garrett Harmison as RCHS Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. Cheyanne Merwarth also resigned from her position as RCCC After School Aide, effective Oct. 6.

Consent Agenda Approval: The board unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included approval of September meeting minutes, disposal of high school library items, policy updates and approval of the nonresident student application for 2026-27. The board also accepted donations to the district advertising program from six local businesses.

New Staff Introduction: High School Principal Dr. Charles Kipp introduced three new high school staff members to the board during the meeting.

Public Concerns: Keane Adolph addressed the board with concerns regarding a transportation policy during the public comment period.

Administrative Reports: Monthly reports were presented by Grade School Principal Jared Larson, High School Principal Dr. Charles Kipp and Superintendent Dr. Erin Flair.

Upcoming Meetings: The board scheduled three upcoming meetings. A special meeting for the superintendent's evaluation is set for Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the RCHS Library. A special board retreat and goal-setting session is scheduled for Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at the RCHS Library. The next regular meeting will be held Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. in the RCHS Library.
