Riley County police report multiple arrests over weekend

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Riley County Police reported multiple arrests and incidents over a three-day period from Sept. 27-29, 2025, according to the department's daily media reports.

The incidents ranged from traffic violations to violent crimes across Manhattan, Ogden and surrounding areas.

Assault and Battery Cases

Officers responded to an aggravated assault Sunday at the intersection of Hayes Drive and McCall Road in Manhattan at 11:36 p.m. A 30-year-old woman reported that an unknown male suspect pointed a handgun at her before driving away, according to the Sept. 30 daily news report.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old man was attacked with a knife by three unknown suspects on Patricia Drive early Sunday morning at 2:08 a.m., police said.

Police also filed reports of aggravated battery in the 1100 block of Moro on Sept. 29 at 4:26 p.m., involving a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, according to the Sept. 30 report.

DUI and Traffic Incidents

Alexis Sanchez Santiaguez, 23, of Manhattan, was arrested Sunday at 12:50 a.m. at North Fifth Street and Bluemont Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher, according to the Sept. 29 arrest report. Sanchez Santiaguez was issued a $750 bond.

An injury crash Sept. 28 at 8:39 p.m. sent Carson Avery, 35, of Riley, to Via Christi Hospital after his 2005 GMC Sierra 3500 lost control following a dust cloud and wound up in a culvert in the 9600 block of Anderson Avenue, the Sept. 29 report stated.

Property Crimes

Multiple vehicle egging incidents were reported in the 1000 block of Sunset Avenue early Sunday, damaging a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, 2017 Ford Edge and 2024 Volkswagen Jetta, according to the Sept. 29 report. The estimated total loss was $3,000.

A 19-year-old man reported a vehicle theft Friday at 1:45 p.m., police said. A 30-year-old suspect allegedly stole a rented 2012 Toyota Camry, with an estimated loss of $6,000, according to the Sept. 28 report.

Mid America Piano was listed as the victim in a forgery report Friday when an unknown suspect forged a business check, the Sept. 28 report stated. The estimated total loss was $5,000.

Drug and Weapons Charges

Emoni Ruffins, 36, of Junction City, was arrested Sunday at 1:43 a.m. for criminal discharge of a firearm in the 1100 block of Moro in Manhattan, according to the Sept. 29 arrest report. Ruffins was issued a $5,000 bond.

Brian Havens, 46, of Manhattan, was arrested Sunday at 3:21 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear, possession of opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, police said. He was issued a $23,000 bond, according to the Sept. 30 report.

Other Arrests

Bryan Mosley, 34, of Manhattan, faces two counts of sexual battery and one count of interference with a law enforcement officer, according to the Sept. 28 arrest report. He was arrested at 12:43 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Poyntz Avenue and issued a $5,000 bond.

Janaya Scott, 21, of Ogden, and Nevaeh Wilson, 20, of Ogden, were both arrested in connection with criminal damage to property incidents in Ogden on Sept. 28, the Sept. 29 arrest report stated.
