Reno County Sheriff's Office announces promotion of three deputies

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff's Office promoted three deputies to corporal during a ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Reno County Correctional Facility.

Savannah Saiz, Casey Borrowman and Abraham Baca-Perez received their promotions in Fountain Hall, surrounded by colleagues, family and friends.

Saiz joined the sheriff's office in June 2023 and was promoted to corporal Oct. 5. She served as a jail training officer and key deputy, responsible for maintaining facility keys. She also assisted with community events. Sgt. Ted Smith pinned her badge during the ceremony.

Borrowman started with the agency in May 2024 and received his promotion Oct. 5. He worked as a jail training officer and became certified for the Crisis Intervention Team. His father, Michael Borrowman, pinned his badge.

Baca-Perez, the most recent hire among the three, joined the sheriff's office in November 2024 and was promoted Nov. 30. He also advanced to jail training officer. His wife, Priscilla Gutierrez, pinned his badge.

Sheriff Darrian Campbell and Capt. Levi Blumanhourst attended the ceremony to congratulate the newly promoted corporals.

The sheriff's office oversees law enforcement operations and manages the county correctional facility in Hutchinson, the county seat located about 50 miles northwest of Wichita.
