Reno County offers free transit rides throughout November

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Reno County Area Transit is waiving all fares for the entire month of November in recognition of Kansas Mobility Week, Veterans Day and the month of giving.

The free ride promotion, announced Nov.6 by Reno County Government, runs from Nov. 1 through Nov. 29. The initiative aims to honor veterans and promote accessibility across the county's transit system.

"We are thankful to all our riders who Ride Rcat," the county said in a statement posted to social media.

The transit service, known as Rcat, will be closed on several days during the promotional period. The system will not operate on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day, and will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for Thanksgiving and the day after the holiday.

Kansas Mobility Week is an annual statewide observance that highlights the importance of accessible transportation options for residents, particularly those with disabilities and seniors who rely on public transit services.
