Reno County Landfill to restrict loads Friday due to high wind warning

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Landfill will not accept burned loads or burned materials Friday, Jan. 16, due to a weather alert predicting high winds, county officials announced.
Northwest winds are expected to reach 25-35 mph with gusts of 40-50 mph Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, according to the Reno County government's announcement.
All other materials and loads will be accepted at the landfill Friday as usual. Only burned materials are restricted.
The landfill is located at 206 W. 1st Ave. in Hutchinson.
