Reno County Hosts Successful Recovery Awareness Event at Arts Center

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno Recovery Collaborative presented "The Recovery Journey: Education, Connection, and Real-life Impact" Wednesday evening at Stringer Fine Arts Center, marking the county's first annual National Recovery Month event.
The Reno County Health Department served as the backbone partner for the collaborative's subcommittees in organizing the successful community gathering. The evening featured a resource fair with organizations dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders and other challenges.
Thomas Simmons from the Reno County Health Department and Taylor from Mirror Inc. delivered presentations on harm reduction strategies and making resources accessible to the community.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all attendees and volunteers who contributed their time, energy and dedication to the event's success. The collaborative emphasized this marks just the beginning of their efforts, with the health department, recovery collaborative and partner organizations planning future events to spotlight important topics within the community.
