Reno County EMS receives new Type II ambulance

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County EMS has taken delivery of a new Type II ambulance from American Response Vehicles. American Response Vehicles announced the delivery Oct. 8.

Type II ambulances are built on a commercial van chassis with a raised roof to provide additional headroom for personnel. They are primarily used for basic life support and patient transfers, though they can occasionally be used for advanced life support and rescue work.

These ambulances are designed for maneuverability in tight urban spaces where larger ambulances cannot easily navigate, and they offer superior fuel efficiency for longer transports.

The custom-built Ford Transit is designed to provide comfort, safety and reliability for both patients and providers, keeping crews ready to serve the community, according to American Response Vehicles.

Reno County EMS is an advance life support ambulance service serving the citizens of Hutchinson and Reno County. The service is based at 1701 East 23rd Ave. in Hutchinson.
