Reno County DA's office marks 25 years of Toys for Tots drive
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County District Attorney's Office is celebrating a milestone this holiday season with its 25th annual Toys for Tots drive, inviting community members to help make Christmas brighter for local children.
The toy collection runs Dec. 1-12 at the Reno County Courthouse, 206 W. First Ave. Donors can drop off new, unwrapped toys from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on business days, with collection ending at noon on the final day.
This year's drive expands beyond toys to include cold weather items such as hats, gloves and scarves, addressing children's needs during the winter months.
The District Attorney's Office is adding a festive touch to encourage participation, offering cookies to donors on the courthouse's first floor. Photos from previous years show a decorated Christmas tree and collection boxes filled with toys.

The program has become a longstanding tradition in Reno County, with county departments competing to win a traveling trophy for their contributions to the annual drive.
