Regional agencies to gather for intergovernmental luncheon Monday
MANHATTAN, Kan. — Representatives from the City of Manhattan, Riley County, school district, Kansas State University, Fort Riley and other regional agencies will gather Oct. 27 for their monthly Intergovernmental Luncheon to discuss issues of mutual interest.
The luncheon is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. at Rockin K's 1880 Event Space, 1880 Kimball Avenue. Food service begins at 11:30 a.m. for those who have reserved seats, with payments collected on site.
The agenda includes presentations on the Heartland Certified Public Manager Program by Greg McKinley of Riley County and cultural assets at K-State featuring representatives from McCain Auditorium, the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art and K-State Gardens. The group also will discuss legislative items and potential topics for future meetings.
The Intergovernmental Luncheons provide a regular forum for regional stakeholders to address shared concerns and coordinate on community issues. The meetings are typically held on the fourth Monday of each month at noon. Riley County is serving as host for all 2025 meetings at the Kimball Avenue location, continuing the program's annual rotating host arrangement among participating agencies.
The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 24. Topics under consideration include the campus master plan and "All Things Kansas" initiatives.
