ENID, Okla. - Freshman forward Isabela Puccinelli scored twice in the first half to lead No. 15 Hutchinson Community College to a commanding 4-0 victory over NOC-Enid on Sunday at the Enid Soccer Complex.
The Blue Dragons (3-0) recorded their second consecutive shutout while extending their perfect start to the season. Puccinelli's two goals marked her first career tallies, while freshmen Olivia Tamaki and Beatriz Carvalho also notched their initial collegiate goals in the second half.
"This was a complete team performance," said Blue Dragons coach. "Isabela showed great composure for a freshman, and our entire squad contributed to this dominant display."
Hutchinson controlled the match from the opening whistle, outshooting the Jets 23-0, including a 10-0 advantage in shots on goal. The shutout marked the 51st time in program history that the Blue Dragons held an opponent without a shot on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Loague earned her first career victory without needing to make a save, as NOC-Enid failed to register a single shot attempt.
The breakthrough came in the 24th minute when freshman Ava McAninch delivered a precise cross into the penalty area. Puccinelli timed her run perfectly, heading home from 10 yards out to give Hutchinson a 1-0 advantage.
Twelve minutes later, Puccinelli doubled the lead with a powerful strike from the right side of the box after receiving a well-placed pass from Isabell Van Fleet.
The Blue Dragons maintained their scoring streak from corner kicks when McAninch's delivery found Tamaki for a header in the 55th minute, extending the lead to 3-0.
Carvalho capped the scoring with 7:25 remaining, converting a pass from Poppy Smith that split two NOC-Enid defenders.
McAninch finished with two assists to pace the Blue Dragons' attack, while Van Fleet and Smith each contributed one assist. Hutchinson dominated possession throughout and earned 11 corner kicks compared to none for the Jets.
The victory improves Hutchinson to 3-0 all-time against NOC-Enid, with two wins coming via shutout. The Blue Dragons have posted 191 shutouts in the 21-year history of the program.
Hutchinson will return to action Thursday at 6 p.m. when it hosts Wichita United U18 at the Salthawk Soccer Complex. The match was added to replace a canceled game against Newman University JV from the original schedule.
The Blue Dragons are seeking their 11th 3-0 start in program history as they continue their early-season dominance under the lights at home.
