NEWTON, Kan. — Several Newton streets will close for eight to 10 hours at a time starting Tuesday, July 21, as city crews apply a new slurry seal surface.

The resurfacing project, running through Thursday, July 23, will affect portions of Plum, Poplar and Southwest Second streets, along with Cherry Hill Drive. Daily work will begin at 7 a.m.

Residents must move parked vehicles off the scheduled routes before the closures to avoid being towed at their own expense.
