Nature Center offers nighttime hike to spot owls, bats, nocturnal wildlife

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Dillon Nature Center will host a Fall Family Hike focused on nocturnal animals from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10.

The after-dark event will give families the opportunity to search for owls, bats, spiders and other creatures that emerge at night.

The program is designed for families with children ages 3 and older. Strollers are welcome.

Cost is $10 per family for Dillon Nature Center members and $15 per family for non-members.

The Dillon Nature Center is a 100-acre urban nature sanctuary in Hutchinson featuring walking trails, wildlife observation areas and educational programming. The center offers year-round activities focused on connecting the community with nature through guided hikes, workshops and seasonal events.

The facility includes native prairie restoration areas, woodlands and wetlands that provide habitat for diverse plant and animal species. Educational programs serve all ages, from preschool nature exploration to adult birding classes.
