N. Plum Street to close for storm line repairs in Hutchinson
Information obtained from City of Hutchinson
HUTCHINSON — N. Plum Street between East 3rd Avenue and East 4th Avenue will close for approximately two weeks starting Monday, Dec. 8, as crews repair a failed stormwater line, the city's Public Works Department announced.
The severity of the damage requires workers to open-cut the street to remove damaged pipe and install new stormwater infrastructure, according to the department. The work necessitates a full closure in both directions within the project area.
The closure is expected to last about two weeks, weather permitting.
Detours will be in place for northbound and southbound traffic. While the detour route is primarily designed for large truck traffic, residents may choose alternative routes, the city said.
The city thanked residents for their patience during the repairs.
