The Moundridge Wildcats delivered a complete team performance Thursday night, shutting out Remington 33-0 behind a balanced offensive attack and stifling defensive effort that improved their record to 4-1.

Quarterback Owen Colwell was efficient through the air, completing 8 of 10 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. His first scoring strike went to Heath Churchill for 26 yards in the opening quarter, followed by a 60-yard bomb to Logan Greenwalt in the second quarter that extended the lead to 21-0.

Special teams provided a highlight when Josh Koehn returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. Kicker Cyrus Blough had an exceptional night, connecting on field goals of 31 and 56 yards. The 56-yarder is believed to be just shy of the Kansas state record and showcased the junior's impressive leg strength.

Paul Grill anchored both sides of the ball, rushing for 67 yards and a 23-yard fourth-quarter touchdown while recording 5 tackles, 5 assists, 2 sacks, and 2 tackles for loss on defense. The defensive unit held Remington to just 90 rushing yards and 122 passing yards while forcing an interception by Greenwalt.

"The kids stepped up big tonight and played a well-rounded game," said head coach Bryan Otte. "Special teams and defense helped us pull this one out against a good Remington team. We have to continue to improve throughout the week to prepare for a very good Marion team."

Moundridge controlled the game from start to finish, building a 24-0 halftime lead before adding nine points in the fourth quarter to seal the shutout victory.
