MMS Tennis Dominates Wichita Collegiate 11-3 in Season Finale

WICHITA, Kan. – The McPherson Middle School tennis team capped off their dual season in impressive fashion Monday, defeating Wichita Collegiate 11-3 in the second half of their two-dual series. The Bullpups dominated both singles and doubles competition, with several players delivering standout performances that highlighted their tremendous growth throughout the fall season.

In singles action, Anna Kahle led the way with a convincing 6-1 victory, showcasing smart shot placement and improved power on her forehand that allowed her to dictate points from the baseline. Elsie Walters continued her strong season with a dominant 6-0 shutout win, while Madison Pollman also secured a 6-0 victory with excellent ball placement. The depth of improvement was evident as Karsen Greer, Lyla Rageth, and Mabel Jones all captured decisive wins, demonstrating the consistent serving and weaponized ground strokes they've developed this fall.

McPherson swept all five doubles matches, highlighted by excellent net play from Amanda Lauw, who partnered with Kahle for a 6-0 victory despite giving up height at the net. The duo of Aly Rausch and Brynnlee Torsell showcased strong teamwork in their 6-4 win, excelling at both baseline and net play. With momentum from this commanding team victory, the Bullpups now turn their attention to their home tournament, where they'll look to continue their impressive late-season form.
