Middle School Track Teams Compete in Hutchinson
Seventh-grade girls finish second overall; two school records set.
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — McPherson's middle school boys and girls track teams competed in Hutchinson, with the seventh-grade girls squad leading the way with a second-place team finish while the eighth-grade girls placed 12th, the seventh-grade boys placed ninth and the eighth-grade boys placed seventh.
Individual standouts included seventh-grader Reese Kramer, who won the 400-meter dash in 1:03.18 and set a new seventh-grade school record in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:41.50; seventh-grader Kayleigh Dilli, who took second in the 200-meter hurdles in 31.25 seconds — also a new seventh-grade school record.
Eighth-grader Elles Pavlovich, who won the long jump at 16 feet, 0 inches; and eighth-grader Finn Gilkey, who took first in the shot put at 44 feet, 0 inches, while other top-three finishers included seventh-grader Maleah Crawford (second in high jump at 4-6, second in long jump at 14-8), eighth-grader Cole Barkley (second in high jump at 5-6), seventh-grader Eli Barnett (second in long jump at 16-1.25), seventh-grader Lucy Redden (second in discus at 78-8), the seventh-grade girls medley relay (third at 2:11.73) and the seventh-grade girls 4x400 relay (second at 4:42.79).
