The McPherson City FC 2014 Mid Kansas United squad claimed the Girls championship at the KG7 Fall Invitational Tournament over the weekend, defeating SNFC Academy Dundee United 2014G in a dramatic penalty kick shootout.

After dominating Pool A with a 2-0-1 record and seven points, MCFC 14G advanced to Saturday's championship final. The Bullpups found themselves trailing 1-0 before Meeghan Dohrman tied the match early in the second half with a powerful near-post strike off passes from Lindy Kramer and Adalie Church.

With the score locked at 1-1 after regulation, the match went directly to penalty kicks. Church and Dohrman both converted their attempts, but the difference maker was goalkeeper Adelyn Davison, who made three spectacular saves while allowing only one goal to slip past.

"Our goalie was the difference maker," noted the team's results. Dohrman's equalizer marked the only goal Mid Kansas United scored in the entire tournament against the Academy team from Omaha.

Team members include Kinsley Armer, Evelyn Bunk, Payton Busse, Hattie Christiansen, Adalie Church, Adelyn Davison, Meeghan Dohrman, Braelyn Edwards, Hadley Fischer, Aubrey Koehn, Lindy Kramer, Cordelia Schreiner, and Amaya Sullivan.
