MHS Volleyball Goes 2-3 at Pre-Season Tournament
Harper Rierson, Riley Whitfield lead Bullpups in five-team field
McPherson High School volleyball opened its season at a five-team pre-season tournament, finishing with a 2-3 record. The Bullpups picked up wins over Goddard (25-20, 25-15) and Buhler (25-16, 25-16), while dropping matches to Maize South (19-25, 13-25), Derby (21-25, 24-26), and Garden City (14-25, 18-25).
Harper Rierson paced the offense with 31 kills, followed by Carmin Pavlovich with 16 and Piper Solofra with 15. Riley Whitfield ran the offense with 92 assists, while Carmin Pavlovich added 9 of her own.
Defensively, Elles Pavlovich led the way with 12 aces and 36 digs, with Rylie Whitfield (9 aces, 20 digs) and Carmin Pavlovich (32 digs) also contributing across the back row. Everlee Buchman chipped in 9 aces, and Piper Solofra led the team at the net with 3 blocks, followed by Carmin Pavlovich with 2.
The Bullpups will look to build on the split performance as they continue into regular-season play.
