McPherson Seventh Grade Volleyball Teams Sweep Winfield Triangular

The McPherson Middle School seventh grade volleyball teams delivered commanding performances Monday at Winfield, with both the A and B squads sweeping their triangular matches in dominant fashion.

The A Team improved to 11-1 on the season with convincing victories over Winfield (25-14, 25-7) and Clearwater (25-11, 25-9). After a sluggish start, the squad found its rhythm and dominated from the service line, recording 29 aces with every player contributing at least one. The balanced attack and quick defensive play at the net showcased the team's continued development.

"Overall I am so impressed by how this team has come together," said coach Abby Bradstreet. "They are so supportive of each other on and off the court and that definitely translates into them being such a great team."

The B Team matched the success with equally impressive straight-set victories over Winfield (25-14, 25-8) and Clearwater (25-4, 25-12) to move to 11-6 overall. Sariah Perry delivered a spectacular serving performance with 19 aces, including a remarkable 14 consecutive points against Clearwater. Kayleigh Dilli and Reese Kramer added strong net play throughout both matches.

"B Team played incredible this evening. We came out strong from the beginning and never lost the momentum," said coach Amelia Broadfoot.

Both teams return home Monday, October 6, with the A Team hosting a triangular and the B Team welcoming Wellington and Arkansas City.
