McPherson Police Department Releases Q2 2025 Crime Statistics Report

MCPHERSON, Kan. —The McPherson Police Department's Crime Intelligence Analyst has released comprehensive crime statistics for the second quarter of 2025, covering April 1st through June 30th. The detailed analysis reveals 499 total reports resulting in 233 recorded offenses during this period, representing a 34% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024. The data shows notable increases in public order offenses, with disturbances and trespasses accounting for the majority of public order incidents.

Property crime continues to dominate McPherson's crime landscape, comprising 41.6% of all offenses despite a significant 222% spike in public order incidents. The report attributes the increase to improved reporting practices and more people coming forward, particularly in cases involving fights, assaults, and sexual assault. The department emphasizes that these statistics don't necessarily indicate decreased community safety but may reflect enhanced community engagement and trust in law enforcement.
