Meadowlark Trail Grand Opening Set for April 25

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Central Kansas Conservancy invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of the Meadowlark Trail on Saturday, April 25, in honor of National Rails to Trails Day 2026.

The event marks the completion of 12.4 miles of trails connecting McPherson and Lindsborg — a milestone nearly 30 years in the making since the Conservancy was formed and after more than 14 active years of development.

The celebration begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Meadowlark Trail entrance off Quivira Road. Community members are encouraged to come out and hike, bike, run or walk the trail. Door prizes will be given away during the event.

Trail-goers can also take in the Dean Stewart Memorial Bridge, found just half a mile north of the Quivira Road entrance.
