McPherson Main Street will present the Burnin' Down Main Cookoff & Fall Festival on Friday, October 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in downtown McPherson. The event combines a competitive cookoff with family-friendly fall activities for the community.

The festival centers around a culinary competition featuring prizes for the best chili and dessert entries. Attendees can purchase $5 sample wristbands to taste the various competition entries and vote for their favorites. The event encourages community participation in both the cooking competition and judging process.

Family activities will include bouncy houses, face painting, crafts and pumpkin decorating stations throughout the downtown area. The combination of food competition and children's activities aims to create an engaging experience for all ages during the two-hour event.

The McPherson Convention and Visitor's Bureau is providing partial sponsorship for the festival. Those seeking additional information about the event, including registration details for the cooking competition, can contact Main Street at 620-241-7430.

The festival represents Main Street's ongoing efforts to create community events that highlight downtown McPherson while bringing residents together for seasonal celebrations.
