The McPherson Lady Pups golf team finished third at the Hutchinson Invitational Thursday with a team score of 343, overcoming challenging conditions and a short-handed roster to post a strong performance.

Senior Brodie Kuhn led the way with an impressive 74, finishing tied for second place and missing medalist honors by just one stroke. Fellow senior Andi Buschbom battled through a difficult round to secure a top-10 finish with an 82, good for eighth place overall.

Freshman Lleyton Kuhn continued her consistent season with a 90 to finish 19th and claim a top-20 spot. Junior Addie French rounded out the team scoring with a 97 to tie for 33rd. Senior Leah Cahoone shot 101 to tie for 44th, while junior Ari Prose carded a 108 to tie for 61st.

Despite competing without one of their regular top six players, the Lady Pups showed resilience in breezy conditions on a long course setup similar to what they'll face at the state tournament. Several golfers stepped up with solid performances to help secure the third-place finish.

The Lady Pups will return to action Tuesday at the League Tournament at Cherry Oaks Golf Course in Cheney.
