The MCFC 2016 boys soccer team closed out their fall season with a dramatic 1-0 victory over FC Kansas, holding one of the division's highest-scoring teams scoreless for the first time all season while finishing with an impressive 5-2-1 record.

Playing short-handed against Blackhawks FC in their penultimate match, MCFC battled to a 2-2 draw before lightning forced an early stoppage. Guest player Pedro made an immediate impact, setting up center midfielder Griggs for the opening goal with a perfect cross. Griggs added the equalizer late in the match, finishing his own rebound while goalkeeper Bohman and defenders Ide, Fuqua, and Emeneger held strong against repeated Blackhawks attacks.

In the season finale against FC Kansas, MCFC delivered their most disciplined defensive performance of the year. After a controversial first-half goal was waved off, Emeneger drew a penalty in the second half that Griggs converted for the game-winner. From there, goalkeepers Bohman and Denniston combined for six saves while centerbacks Fuqua, Ide, Emeneger, and Stucky shut down every FC Kansas attack to secure the team's third clean sheet of the season. The shutout marked the first time FC Kansas had been held scoreless all year, capping a remarkable fall campaign for MCFC as they head into the offseason with momentum and confidence for spring competition.
