MANHATTAN, Kan. — A 37-year-old Manhattan man remains behind bars on a $300,000 bond after police arrested him Wednesday on 59 criminal charges related to the state's offender registry. Joseph Jonathan Macias was taken into custody in the 600 block of Vattier Street following an investigation that stemmed from a June 5 police report. His sweeping district court warrant includes 33 standard violations of the Kansas Offender Registration Act, nine aggravated registry violations and 17 counts of perjury.
