Manhattan farm hosts moonlight event with corn mazes, live music
MANHATTAN, Kan. — A & H Farm will host a nighttime fall festival Oct. 11, offering visitors a chance to explore the family farm under an almost-full moon.
Moonlight on the Farm runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and features two corn mazes after dark, moonlight hayrides, bonfires and live music from 8 to 10 p.m. Guests can wander through flower fields under the stars and enjoy farm-fresh treats, seasonal drinks and food from the farm's kitchen and bar.
Admission is $10, with free entry for annual pass members and children 2 and younger. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. with no early entry allowed. The last hayride departs at 9:45 p.m., and final entry is at 9:30 p.m. Daytime tickets do not apply to the after-hours event.
The fourth-generation family farm, owned by Andrea and Hugo DeJesus, has been voted one of the top 10 must-see places for farm experiences in Kansas. Located at 1374 Collins Lane, the farm features over 100 activities including Kansas's largest farm petting zoo, giant slides and seasonal attractions.
The DeJesus family operates the farm with their eight children. Andrea serves as president of the Downtown Farmers' Market of Manhattan. The family was named Farm Family of the Year in 2017.
The farm's fall festival runs on weekends through November and includes two corn mazes — a Lainey Wilson-themed maze accessible by hayrack ride and a Sesame Street maze within walking distance of the activity area. Hayrack rides begin at 10 a.m. and run hourly, with the final ride at 6 p.m. on regular festival days.
Additional activities include a 50-foot slide, paintball, pumpkin picking and tortoise feeding at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The mega slide and paintball are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on festival days. Pumpkins are priced separately, ranging from $2 to $20.
The farm is open daily with winter hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store and red barn are free to visit.
