Manhattan Community Health Foundation to host annual Crystal Gala Feb. 22

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — The Manhattan Community Health Foundation will hold its annual Crystal Gala on Feb. 21, 2026 at the Kansas State University Alumni Center to raise funds for healthcare initiatives in the region.

The gala supports the foundation's mission to enhance community health by providing scholarships to healthcare professionals, ensuring access to essential medical services for low-income patients, and supporting healthcare facilities with equipment and resources.

Over the last year, the Manhattan Community Health Foundation has invested more than $167,000 to improve the health and well-being of our community, according to the foundation's website.

The organization recently committed to bringing a Dispensary of Hope site to Manhattan, which provides free medications to low-income, chronically ill community members. The foundation made a three-year commitment and began making investments this year.

The Manhattan Community Health Foundation is proud to highlight more than $90,000 of key investments made over the past year, including equipment for the Birth and Women's Center and cardiac rehabilitation programs.

Recent investments include a transcutaneous bilirubin meter that reduces the need for newborn blood draws, a cardiovascular rehabilitation monitoring system, and neonatal isolettes for newborn care.

The foundation also supports healthcare workforce development through scholarships and grants to aspiring healthcare professionals and current associates seeking to enhance their skills.

At the Manhattan Community Health Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. We are a catalyst for a healthier Manhattan, working to improve the lives of our neighbors by: Investing in innovative solutions, according to the organization.

The foundation works in partnership with healthcare providers, community organizations and local leaders to create a more robust healthcare system for Riley County and surrounding areas.

Dr. Segen Chase, a gala planning committee member, said the foundation "drives meaningful change, from improving public and medical health to strengthening the economic well-being of our community."

The foundation provides scholarships to students pursuing healthcare careers. Recent recipients include nursing students and laboratory technicians who benefit from the financial assistance.

The Manhattan Community Health Foundation was established to serve as a caring neighbor and compassionate investor focused on raising healthcare standards in the Manhattan region.

Tickets and sponsorship information for the Crystal Gala are available through the foundation's website at healthymhk.org.
