Eleven organizations receive funding for community projects across McPherson County

Local Foundations Award Over $63,000 in October Grants

The McPherson County Community Foundation and the Moundridge Foundation have announced their October 2025 grant recipients, distributing $63,520 to organizations across the county from three different community funds.

McPherson County General Grants awarded $25,050 to six organizations. The Kansas Learning Center for Health received $5,000 for its "On the Road to a Healthier Lifestyle" initiative, bringing evidence-based health education programs to local classrooms. The center has a 60-year history of health education in Kansas.

Senior centers in Windom and Inman received funding for facility improvements. Windom Senior Center was awarded $4,000 to replace its kitchen floor, damaged by recent weather conditions and tree roots. Inman Senior Center received $9,800 to install two ADA-compliant restrooms for patrons using wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.

Other recipients included Project Yes ($750) for its 12-week youth judicial intervention program, FYR Mac-Town ($1,500) for its CrossFit and mentorship program for youth, and Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum ($5,000 matching) for historic preservation repairs.

The David J. Nutt Fund for Lindsborg distributed $30,530 to four organizations. Kansas Learning Center for Health received an additional $10,000 to deliver 16 targeted health education programs to grades K-12. USD 400 received $5,530 for its "One Book, One School" district-wide reading event.

Lindsborg Old Mill received $10,000 in matching funds to address urgent preservation needs at the Smoky Valley Roller Mill, including retaining wall stabilization and accessibility improvements. Child Care Zones was awarded $5,000 in matching funds for technology support, infant-toddler stipends, and professional development.

The Moundridge Community Foundation granted $2,425 to Memorial Home Pine Village to purchase new fitness equipment, expanding class offerings and promoting healthier lifestyles for Moundridge residents of all ages.
