Local First Responders Honor Fallen Deputy on I-135
McPherson area emergency personnel paid tribute to Phillips County officer killed in line of duty

MCPHERSON — Local first responders positioned themselves on overpasses along I-135 near McPherson between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM Tuesday to pay their respects to Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede, who was being transported back home to Phillips County after being killed in the line of duty. The tribute was part of a statewide effort by Kansas first responders to honor the fallen deputy as his body was returned to his hometown, with emergency personnel from across the region participating in the solemn procession to show support for the Phillips County Sheriff's Office and the Gaede family during this difficult time.
