Library to host ugly sweater painting contest for adults

HUTCHINSON — The Hutchinson Public Library will host Bad Art Night on Thursday, challenging adults to create the tackiest holiday sweater paintings possible.

The free event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at 901 N. Main St. and encourages participants to paint deliberately awful ugly sweater designs on canvas using glitter, bright colors and garish patterns.

Prizes will be awarded for the worst creations. Organizers warn that attractive artwork will be disqualified.

The program invites participants to embrace the holiday season through intentionally bad art. No artistic experience is required, and attendees may bring friends.

The event is open to adults only. Registration is available on the library's website at hutchpl.org.
