KSU Gardens to Host Tropical Plant Sale Friday

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Kansas State University Gardens will host a tropical plant and houseplant sale Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. as part of its September Stroll event.
The Purple Thumbs garden group will sell plants from the K-State greenhouses, with most priced between $5 and $10. Organizers say plants will be available in the $5 to $20 range.
Available plants include philodendrons in various species such as squamiferum, pedatum, tortum, hastatum, white princess, painted lady and camposportoanum. The sale will also feature syngoniums, monsteras, aroids and various houseplants including spider plants and orchids.
Succulent varieties will include variegated string of hearts, donkey tail, aloe, euphorbia and various cacti species. The selection also includes specialty plants such as Christmas and Thanksgiving cacti.
The sale is cash or check only and will take place during the Gardens September Stroll at the K-State Gardens, located at 1500 Denison Ave.
Organizers recommend arriving early for the best plant selection, noting that additional varieties may be available beyond those listed.
The event provides an opportunity for plant enthusiasts to purchase greenhouse-grown tropical plants at affordable prices while supporting the university's garden programs.
