KDOT to Begin Road Overlay Project on U.S. 50 in Reno County

HUTCHINSON – The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin an overlay project on U.S. 50 in Reno County on Monday, Sept. 22, officials announced.
The project will improve the road surface and extend the pavement's service life along a 16-mile stretch from the Stafford and Reno County line east to South Sego Road.
Traffic will be guided through the construction area with flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
APAC Kansas, of Hutchinson, is the prime contractor on the $3.8 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November, conditions permitting.
For current road conditions, motorists can visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
The overlay work is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to preserve Kansas roadways and ensure safe travel conditions for motorists throughout the region.
