KDOT to Begin $5.9 Million K-177 Resurfacing Project Monday in Riley County
MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin an 8-mile mill and overlay project on K-177 in Riley County on Monday, with work expected to continue through early December.
The project spans from just south of Interstate 70 to K-18 near Manhattan.
Crews will start with the southbound outside lane, beginning at K-18 and working south to I-70. Workers will then shift to the northbound outside lane before completing the inside lanes in the same order.
Lane closures will be in place where crews are actively working, and the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in work zones. Construction will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours.
Shilling Construction Inc. of Manhattan is the prime contractor for the $5.9 million project.
KDOT officials urged motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. All project work and traffic changes are weather and conditions permitting.
Current road conditions are available at KanDrive.gov or by calling 511. Updates on highway projects in northeast Kansas can be found at ksdot.gov/NortheastNews.
