Kansas State looks to snap losing streak on homecoming
Kansas State returns home Saturday to face TCU on homecoming weekend, hoping to break a three-game losing streak that has dropped the Wildcats to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in Big 12 Conference play. The seventh-year head coach Chris Klieman team has been competitive despite the record, with its last three losses coming by a combined 10 points. Kansas State led 34-32 in the fourth quarter before Baylor's Connor Hawkins kicked a 53-yard field goal with 31 seconds left.
Quarterback Avery Johnson has completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,363 yards with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 209 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. Wide receiver Jayce Brown leads the receiving corps with 29 catches for 390 yards and three touchdowns. The Wildcats face a 4-1 TCU team Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan.
