Kansas Rep. Davids Highlights Performance in Congressional Softball Game

WASHINGTON — Kansas Rep. Sharice Davids took to social media Saturday to showcase her performance in the 17th annual Congressional Women's softball game, which raised more than $650,000 for breast cancer support.
The July 16 game at Audi Field pitted members of Congress against the Bad News Babes in a charity match to raise awareness for young adults facing breast cancer diagnosis challenges.
The Congressional team claimed victory with a 5-3 lead when severe weather forced officials to call the game before completion, according to Davids' social media post.
The Democratic representative from Kansas' 3rd District waited until Saturday to share details of her performance in the fundraising event.
All proceeds from the game benefited the Young Survival Coalition, an organization dedicated to ensuring "no one faces breast cancer alone," Davids said in her post.
The annual softball game serves as both a bipartisan Congressional event and a major fundraiser for breast cancer awareness and support services for young adults diagnosed with the disease.
Davids, who has served in Congress since 2019, represents a district that includes parts of Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.
