KAIMH Launches Virtual Wellness Program for Kansas Family Child Care Providers

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kansas Association for Infant Mental Health is launching an eight-month virtual learning program designed specifically for family child care providers across the state.
The "Be Well, Teach Well" learning collaborative will run from October through May, offering flexible evening sessions with participants choosing one session per month. All meetings will be conducted online via Zoom.
The supportive program focuses on building resiliency through self-care strategies to help child care providers thrive both personally and professionally, according to Reno County government officials who announced the initiative.
Participants will gain access to stress management and healthy coping strategies, tools for balance, gratitude, mindfulness and boundaries, and guidance on building stronger relationships and developing a growth mindset. The program includes a self-study guide and workbook for additional support.
KAIMH will provide a $100 monthly stipend to participants throughout the eight-month program duration.
Applications are due by Sept. 20, with participants receiving notification of acceptance by Oct. 3. Program organizers emphasize that slots are limited and encourage early application.
"Don't miss this chance to invest in yourself!" officials stated in the program announcement.
The initiative addresses the critical need for mental health and wellness resources among family child care providers, who often face unique challenges in balancing caregiving responsibilities with personal well-being.
Family child care providers interested in applying can access the application and additional program information at www.kaimh.org.
