JV Girls Tennis Bullpups Win Derby Tournament
McPherson takes first place with 18 points, sweeping three individual titles.
DERBY, Kan. — The McPherson JV girls tennis team claimed first place at the Derby tournament Tuesday, finishing with 18 points to edge Maize South (14), Derby (7) and Wichita North (5). Gwen Prieb won the No. 1 singles bracket at 3-0, Farah Britting took No. 2 singles at 2-0, and the doubles team of Emily Reno and Hattie Krug went 3-0 to win the No. 1 doubles title, while Azul Palacios and Lauren Southern finished second at No. 2 doubles with a 2-1 record.
