Hutchinson Zoo to celebrate World Desert Day with free educational event
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Zoo will host a free World Desert Day celebration Saturday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Carey Park location.
The three-hour event aims to educate visitors about desert ecosystems and their diverse wildlife, according to the zoo's event announcement.
"Deserts aren't deserted- they're full of life!" organizers said.
Activities will include interactive learning stations in the zoo's World Biomes building throughout the event. A special desert animal encounter is scheduled for noon at the desert exhibit.
The celebration is open to the public, and admission is free. The zoo is located at 6 Emerson Loop East in Carey Park.
