Hutchinson Zoo Hosts Adults-Only 'Final Sips of Summer' Event Sept. 20

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Zoo will transform into an adults-only playground Sept. 20 for "Prairie Nights Happy Hour: Final Sips of Summer," an evening event combining animal encounters with summer camp nostalgia.
The 21-and-over event runs from 6-9 p.m. at the zoo, located at 6 Emerson Loop East in Carey Park. Attendees can explore the facility while enjoying elevated versions of summer favorites including s'mores and sliders, along with craft activities reminiscent of childhood summer camps.
"This event promises a truly unique experience," organizers said. Guests will have access to zoo experiences and activities designed exclusively for adults, allowing them to sip, savor and socialize in a setting typically reserved for families during daytime hours.
Advance tickets cost $40 online, with gate prices set at $45. Designated driver tickets are available for $25 online or $30 at the gate and do not include drink tickets. All attendees must present valid identification at entry, with no exceptions for the age requirement.
Friends of the Zoo members receive a 20% discount on all ticket prices. Proceeds support the Hutchinson Friends of the Zoo's mission to promote and develop the zoo as a wildlife conservation and educational resource for the city.
The event represents one of the zoo's special programming efforts to engage adult audiences while generating funds for ongoing operations and improvements. Registration and additional information are available through the zoo's official channels.
