Hutchinson YMCA launches 'Bump it Up Week' campaign with gift-giving tree for community programs

The Hutchinson YMCA is hosting "Bump it Up Week," encouraging members to upgrade their monthly memberships to support various community programs through a giving tree display.

The campaign offers five donation tiers, each funding different initiatives at the Kansas organization. Members can select a card from the decorated tree and visit the front desk to complete their contribution.

The $5 monthly tier supports SPLASH, a water safety program teaching children essential swimming and water safety skills. The program aims to reduce drowning incidents through education.

A $10 monthly donation enables middle school students to attend Saturday night programs at the facility, providing supervised recreational activities in a safe environment.

The $15 tier funds Youth Sports programs, giving eight children per season access to skill-building and confidence-development opportunities through organized athletics.

Two $20 monthly options are available. One supports Will Power Hour, a specialized fitness program for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The program focuses on helping participants maintain health and slow disease progression through targeted exercise.

The other $20 option provides cancer survivors access to trained staff who help them build strength, increase flexibility and improve functional ability while offering emotional support through community connections.

The giving tree stands in the facility's common area, decorated with colorful cards representing each donation level. A display board explains the "Bump it Up Week" initiative and its impact on the community.
