Hutchinson schools dismiss early Friday for homecoming parade

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Public Schools will dismiss students one hour early Friday for homecoming festivities, with transportation changes affecting multiple schools across the district.

All USD 308 schools will release students early Friday, Sept. 26, according to a district announcement. Durham Elementary, Boys & Girls Club, Trinity and Hadley bus routes will accommodate the modified schedule to ensure students reach their destinations safely.

The early dismissal coincides with the district's homecoming parade and football game, events expected to significantly increase traffic throughout the area. Parents and community members should plan accordingly for potential delays and congestion.

The Cosmosphere parking lots will be unavailable during homecoming activities, forcing parade attendees and football fans to seek alternative parking arrangements. District officials have provided a map indicating available parking areas for those planning to attend the festivities.

Parents planning to attend both the parade and football game should reference the district's parking map and allow extra time for travel between venues due to anticipated traffic increases.

Additional information about homecoming activities and parking arrangements is available on the district website at www.usd308.com/hoco.

Hutchinson Public Schools serves approximately 8,400 students across the district. The district can be reached at (620) 615-4000 for additional information about schedule changes or transportation modifications.
