Hutchinson Public Works, Utilities honor top employees at annual event

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The city's Public Works and Utilities departments recognized outstanding employees and participated in professional development activities during their annual Employee Development Day and Awards Luncheon last week.

The event combined hands-on learning sessions and presentations with recognition of workers who demonstrate exceptional service in maintaining the city's infrastructure and services.

Adam Wooten received the Public Works Employee of the Year award, with Wade Koon named runner-up. In the Utilities department, Tyler Epp earned Employee of the Year honors, while Nathan Martin was selected as runner-up.

The annual gathering brings together municipal employees responsible for maintaining roads, water systems, wastewater treatment and other essential city services. The development sessions provide staff with training and updates on industry practices.

City officials said the honorees exemplified dedication and teamwork in their daily responsibilities serving Hutchinson residents.

The awards program highlights employees who exceed standard job performance and contribute to efficient city operations.
